fitting to shower

I want to fit a safemix 15 between my hot water cylinder and the inlet to a power shower pump in order to avoid damaging the pump from high temperature water. The pump instructions say that the pump must be free to allow water back to the cylinder without restriction. Can I remove the non-return valve from the safemix unit? Will it still work and which parts do I remove? Thanks, Charles

I would think that you cannot do that as it will affect the correct functioning of the valve as cold would pass into the hot without the non return valve.
