Meynell V6 knob will not come off

My V6 has been dripping but the Meynell engineer was unable to get the head off as it it seized on by hard water. Any suggestions on how to get the head off as the eng said he would have to break everything. Can a refurbished V6 be purchased please?

Yes they can be very difficult to remove.

First a few kettles of boiling water over it may expand it just enough to release it, if that fails then you can try a heat gun or a gas torch (take care not to damage the chrome) if that fails then the engineer is correct you need to get a hacksaw out and cut the head off!

After that it is really just a case of replacing the head and the head set if it also gets damaged during the removal
