Meynell virtuoso cd shower controll

The shower control knob was very difficult to turn off following a brief wrattling noise whilst showering, It required "Stilsons" to turn it off. It is now in the off position. Can you tell me what has gone wrong with it and what spares I will require to repair it. It was first installed in 1992

From your description the head assembly has failed and unfortunately this is now obsolete and no longer available so a new unit is required..
Since all of these units are made to fit standard tap hole spacings would suggest you visit bathroom showrooms to see what is available.
