Mira 723 HP v LP cartridge

Hi I have a mira 723 which used to be connected to a pump running off a hot water tank but is now running of cold mains and combi boiler. For the most part it works fine but seems to keep blowing the inlet o ring on the hot resulting in progressively worsening drip until it fails completely and I have to replace the o ring. Is this to do with the cartridge ? Maybe it is an LP and needs to be HP version ? What is the difference in the cartridges given they use the same o rings would an HP cartridge solve this issue ?

Frankly there is not a lot of difference other than the inlet/temp control ports they are acute triangle shape as opposed to round which allows better control of the flow through the cartridge.

The 723is designed as a low pressure valve however we have noticed that on a combi system if the pressures are not too high or too unequal then if the valve is serviced it can work well.

If your ’O’ ring keeps splitting (And it is the correct ‘O’ ring) then it does sound like you have a pressure problem and therefore you need a HP cartridge or a new combi compatiable shower valve.
