Mira 723 shower too hot

I see there has already been a question on this - my Mira 723 shower also runs very hot all the time. The only way to regulate the temperature is to turn the hot water temperature down at the boiler, and to have the shower head as high as it will go.

The hot water is fed from a combi boiler and immersion tank system (the combi boiler feeds the tank), so could it be a problem with the cold water pressure, or is it more likely to be something mechanical in the shower, like the coil, as mentioned before?

Cheers.

Hi

There is something strange about the way you describe your system.

A combi boiler is feed directly from the mains water supply and supplies hot water on demand directly to the outlets, on this sort of system the cold water to the cold outlets would normally be supplied direct from the mains. (This would normally be described as a high pressure system)

An Immersion tank system is usually feed from a cold water storage tank and the supply to the hot and cold outlets (Except the kitchen sink) are normally feed from the storage tank (a low pressure system)

There some occasions where the cold is from the mains and the hot from the tank this would be an imbalanced system.

The 723 is designed for low pressure balanced systems.

If your system is low pressure and balanced then all you probably need is a service kit.

If you have a combi and the system pressure is not too high and reasonably balanced then you should get away with a service kit, however with a combi boiler you often need the high pressure cartridge.
