I bought the new cartridge and service pack but the cold water does not seem to be coming through, do you think it is wrongly fitted?

Sounds strange ...Did you follow the video on the Mira 8 page?


The  other possibility is an air lock  try removing  the shower head turn the shower on to fully cold and leave the hose in the bottom of the bath or shower tray for 3 or 4 mins this may clear it.

The other thing you can try is flushing the cartridge out see below.

This will take two!

 

If your valve is recessed pack an old poly bag round the valve to divert the water into your Bath / shower tray then turn the hot and cold valves on one at a time and allow the water to flush through for about 15>20 seconds.

 

The person who is helping you should watch that the water is not going anywhere that is going to do any damage. Also they should watch that the amount of water coming from the hot and cold they should be roughly the same.
