Hot and cold reversed!

Ever since I moved into my house my recessed Mira 88 has been backwards, moving the temp dial to cold makes it hot and vice versa. Can I reverse the fitting without removing tiles? Also to get the hot working you have to lay the head in the bath and turn it to full cold (hot) for a minute before it splutters and starts coming through. Any ideas?

If you are having to put the head into the bath then that suggests that the system is air locking.

You can buy a new set of knobs and they come with two sets of temperature knobs with the arrows pointing  in either direction.
