Turnoff the water and strip out the inners of the shower

Whenit is out give the pipe work a flush out.

Thiswill take two!

Ifyour valve is recessed pack an old poly bag round the valve to divert the waterinto your Bath / shower tray then turn the hot and cold valves on one at a timeand allow the water to flush through for about 15>20 seconds.

Theperson who is helping you should watch that the water is not going anywhere thatis going to do any damage also they should watch that the amount of watercoming from the hot and cold they should be roughly the same.

Ifthe flow from the cold is much poorer then it is likely that you have a fault withthe plumbing rather than the shower valve, when the shower is in bits it wouldbe worthwhile fitting a service kit.
