Mira 88 Leaking and stiff

My parent’s Mira88 shower has been stiff to turn for years. I greased up some of the parts a while back but it made little difference. Now my mother finds it difficult to turn it hard enough to be fully off and even when I do it it still drips a little. The temperature control is quite free to turn.

Will a standard Mira88 Mira 936.12 service pack cure both the leaking and the stiffness?

Also how do I tell if its pre or post 1984? The house was built in the 70s so it might date back to then, but it looks like your picture of post 84.

Pre 84 was the Mira 8 so a different valve.

The service kit will solve most of the tightness and leaking problems.

However if the brass components inside the valve are worn then you need to fit a new internal set.
