Blows fuse2

Hello again, I logged a question this morning regarding the fuse blowing after a minute or so of running the shower. You suggested that the MCB was not high enough rated. I have checked and it is a 45 amp fuse. I did a little further investigation and discovered that the problem was the system was short circuiting internally. There was an electric flash when running, as of arcing, and then the unit blew the fuse. I traced it back to micro switch no.7 in your diagram, which upon internal inspection, was showing lots of arcing residue (carbon). I cleaned this up, replaced the switch, and tried again, and the unit still keeps blowing, this time the flash appeared to come from near the water inlet, where the earth cable is connected. Not sure if you can provide any further assistance here?

It may be a faulty elementin the heating tank (there are two, three in most 10kw showers) you can checkthem with a multi meter you should have a reading of around 12>18 ohms.

If you have power to theelements and no heat it's probably the elements, no power to the elements thenit's probably a micro switch.

If you don’t have amultimeter we sell them at £10 each with a guide on how to use them forchecking and testing the various parts of your shower.

Apart from helping to fixyour shower, they are really useful for checking you have a power supply toappliances, for checking fuses, letting you know much power you have left inbatteries

(so you know if they are dud ornot) and lots of other jobs, in short they are well worth the £10.
