Mixer or boiler problem

Hi. The shower is going hot and cold I assumed that this is the replacement part I needed but after reading the other questions now I’m not sure. When feeling the temperature of the pipes supplying the mixer the hot line is going cold and then hot. The taps in the bathroom remain constantly hot. Is this now a boiler problem or is it a mixer fault. Many thanks Dan

Yes it is a boiler problem!

Regardless of what the boiler engineer says the boiler should be able to supply a steady temperature to the shower, if the boiler can't send a steady supply of hot water to the shower then the shower can't deliver an even temperature.

In some cases you will have to end up fitting as new cartridge just to convince the boiler engineer that you are right.
