No temperature control

Hi, I've just replaced and tried to set up the thermostatic cartridge on my Mira 915B following you Youtube video but all I can get is scalding hot or cold water. As I turn the control from cold to hot there is a sudden surge in pressure then the water is too hot. Going from hot to cold, again a sudden surge then just cold water. The water is pumped by a Suregraft twin impeller shower pump. The 2nd shower that comes off this pump, a Mira Element, works fine. Can you offer any advice please?

To understand the problem better, can you tell me what the original fault was with the cartridge, please?

Hi

The original problem was that the shower was only running cold, adjustment of the temperature control made no difference

However, (on the original thermostatic cartridge) I didn't try to adjust the temperature by reversing the hub and altering the control position against the stop, as described in the Youtube video

Thanks

From your description it sounds like there is something sticking in the valve.

So you are turning the temp control handle very carefully from hot to cold or the reverse and then all of a sudden it jumps.

My first suspect for something sticking would be part 13

There so many parts to be honest best just to strip it down and make sure that all the parts are moving freely.

Hi George

Thanks for this advice. I'll strip the valve down as you suggest & hopefully that will overcome the problem (just got to find the time to do it now!)

I'll let you know how I get on

Thanks again for your advice

Hi George

Some time since I originally contacted you with this problem, but I've finally got round to stripping the valve down & checking it

I did this at the weekend & specifically checked that the shuttle valve was moving freely. Everything seems okay & the shuttle valve is okay so I'm not sure where to go from here

Any suggestions?

Thanks again
