Thermosatic cartridge

I have replaced the flow control valve on my Crescent shower which has resolved the problem I initially had. Whilst the unit was dismantled I removed the check valves and cleaned the mesh strainers. I also removed the thermostatic mixer and on refitting I am unable to set it correctly in that the water is too hot. Is there a set method whereby I can adjust this properly and avoid scalding the ultimate user? I have a good knowledge of mechanical items but this is new territory for me. Your advice would be much appreciated.

You will need to check that the cartridge is in the correct orientation as it has markings on it to show the hot and cold feed sides. If these are mixed up then it may produce the symptoms that you are describing.
If you still have problems you can down load a fitting guide for the cartridge from the Mira website.
