mira elite 2 / st pressure problem

i have a mira elite st shower but when i took the cover off it actually has all the components of an elite 2 not the st. the shower has good pressure on all 3 settings, pretty much exactly the same on each 1 when the shower is turned to coldest. as i turn up the heat the pressure gets worse and worse so when it gets to a temperature that you can actually have a shower at it has very low pressure.

the pressure is the same on all 3 settings regarless of what heat you have it set at but gets lower as you turn it hotter. the only way to get it warm with any pressure at all is on high with the heat about 3/4 way round but the pressure is still very bad even at this setting. the shower also makes a bad whinning sound at around 2/3 to 3/4 of the way round on the heat gauge. i cleaned the filter and took off the head but made little difference although the temperature control is working a bit better now as it was not working very well before. any idea what could need to be replaced or what the problem could be? any help appreciated.

thanks,

The shower is operating correctly.

The heat settings will not alter the flow/pressure.

The temperature control knob will alter the flow, the more the flow the cooler the water, the less the flow the hotter the water.

However if you are not receiving an acceptable temperature it may be a faulty element in the heating tank (there are two, three in most 10kw showers) you can check them with a multi meter you should have a reading of around 12>18 ohms.

If you have power to the elements and no heat it's probably the elements, no power to the elements then it's probably a micro switch.

If you don’t have a multimeter  we sell them at £10 each with a guide on how to use them for checking and testing the various parts of your shower.

Apart from helping to fix your shower, they are really useful for checking you have a power supply to appliances, for checking fuses, letting you know much power you have left in batteries

(so you know if they are dud or not)  and lots of other jobs, in short they are well  worth the £10.
