Hot, then cold, then hot etc

Mira Essentials (Post 2000)



When I turn the shower on, the water heats up and stabilises for 10 seconds or so. Then the low pressure light comes on and it goes cold. I turn the temp dial up until the light goes off. It warms back up again for 10 seconds then the pressure light comes on again and it goes cold. This cycle keeps repeating itself until the temp dial is so high, it starts to begin a cycle of boiling hot-overheat-freezing cold-warms up to boiling hot-overheat-freezing cold and so on.



The pressure from the shower is no different to what it was before this started happening,

This is almost certainly the pilot valve at fault and as this is now obsolete and no longer available anew shower is required.
Best replacement is the Mira Spor 9.0kw although you will have to extend the pipe work a little.
