This question is regarding Mira Essentials Electric Shower - Post 2004 - Shower Spares

Mira Essentials 8.5kw going hot and cold

This has worked faultlessly for years, but now it only works ok for a short while (max 5 minutes) then goes very hot, then goes freezing cold, then after a few minutes it goes very hot again and the cycle repeats. This is a hard water area and the head needs descaling regularly, Always used on maximum. Tried a new hose & head but no different. Do you think the heater is scaled up? Or is it likely to be something else?

Hot cold cycling

First check that the valve coming into your house and the valve on the line to your shower are both fully open then check the inlet filter (Part 2) if they are OK then it is likely to be a faulty flow valve.

It may be worth phoning your water supplier and checking that they haven't had the water pressure turned down for any reason, your shower needs a minimum of 1bar to work properly.
