Mira Event Thermostatic motor/pump noise

The motor/pump is making an intermittent noise as if the motor is struggling to work. Took the cover off and the inside is covered in a black powder. Pressure seems to be down as well. Shower installed about 4 years ago. Motor assembly has these details: Pn 6.1532.307.3.0; Clss F; /Rev 02. Water temp 65 degrees - 26.03.2008. Is it just the motor brushed that need replacing or the whole motor unit?

Thanks

First check that the inlet filters , head and hose are clear.

Also check that there is enough water getting to the shower.

If all is well changing the brushes may solve the problem unless the shaft is the problem then a new motor would be needed.
