mira event thermostatic shower

My shower is dripping, is this because it needs new internal washers of some kind. It is approx 15 years old

Unfortunately this is the older style unit and there are no serviceable parts in the mixing valve, so you will have to replace the complete valve.

Considering the price of the part and the age of your shower it may be worth thinking about replacing your shower, the new Events, although they are a different shape they have the same position for the water inlets.
