boiling water only

just recently and it happens intermittently the shower will only output boiling hot water that you couldn't stand under regardless of where you moved the know that controls the temperature. also the know that controls turning the shower on came of in my hand.. there was a small white clip inside the know which has broken.. will a knob set include all the bits to fix it?

Sounds like something has gone wrong with the knobs and it is not adjusting the temperature control in side the shower.

 

Switch off the power to the shower and remove the front cover (the knobs just pull off ) if the knobs are damaged or broken then they will have to be replaced.

If not have a look and see if you can see if anything else is misplaced or out of line.
