Pump failure

I have a Mira Event T power shower which is approx 10 years old. The pump has failed previously and this was corrected by installing new brushes, supplied by you. We were away for the weekend so the shower was not used for a few days, it is normally used 3 or 4 times daily. Upon our return the pump is now not operating at all, no noise from the shower when switching on. There is a flow of both hot and cold water through the shower but obviously not at pumped pressure. There are the normal signs of carbon dust within the shower unit. I am surprised by the sudden failure, ie no prior warning of a struggling pump! I suspect that the pump needs replacing but perhaps you could confirm this or advise of any other possible causes of this failure, before I go to the expense of pump replacement.

Thanks, Iain MacD.

Hi Iain

It is possible that you could have a potentiometer or PCB fault

Turn the pot up to full power and check that you are getting the 240v to the motor.

You could also make sure that the power is off and try turning the com with the end of a screwdriver, if the motor was only sticking this may release it.

Thanks for your response George. I have established that there is no power getting to pump or to the area of the valve assembly, where i assume there is some kind of electrical component to allow power to the pump when the control is turned ? There is power getting to the area where the power supply enters the shower unit (PCB ?). Can you suggest anything else ?

Thanks
