No water. Solenoid OK. Filters clean. Motor fine.

Event XS Thermostatic has me stumped. The pump runs when the power button is pressed, but hardly any water comes through, just a little. The trickle of water stops fine when power is cut. Things I've tried so far:

1) Checked and cleaned the filters under Part 5.

2) Checked the resistance of the solenoid (ok). Checked power to the solenoid when on (ok). Even removed the solenoid assembly and activated the solenoid with 220V, it opens the valve perfectly.

3) Ran the motor without the solenoid in place, hardly any water came out, suggesting the problem is before the solenoid.

4) Removed cover from impeller. Impeller spins fine.

5) Removed thermostat assembly. Water flows at full pressure through the check valves, so filter and valves are fine.

6) Removed thermostat cartridge from cartridge assembly. It's hard to test the cartridge, however when forcing water into the exit, water came out of the hot and cold ports. Changing the temperature of the water changed which port the water came out of as you would expect.

7) Descaled the thermostat cartridge just in case. Re-assembled the whole shower and the problem persists.

I can't think what else to test. Any ideas?

WOW! Looks like you have checked everything! And there isnot much I can add, however as everything inside the shower appears to beworking perhaps we need to look outside.

I presume you have checked that the shower head is notblocked?

But ......The most likely thing considering the tests youhave carried out, is the hose.

The hose is made from several layers the inner layer is justa thin membrane and this can separate from the outer part of the hose, so theouter part of the hose looks OK however the inner section has collapsed andwill not allow the water through.

Disconnect the hose from the bottom of the unit turn it onand give it a try.

If that does or doesn’t work I would like to know get backto me at [email protected]
