Unusual noise from the motor.

The shower has worked excellently for the past five years. Recently when the start button is pressed the motor seems to be struggling and then after a few seconds it resumes normal noise level and good operation. Does it need new brushes or do I need to plan for a new motor?

First check that the filters are clear as well as the hose and the head. also check that the inlet valves are fully open. If all is well then the motor may be on its way out or the brushes maybe excessively worn.
