Mira Excel - temperature problems

Hi, we've had the Excel fed from a combi-boiler for about 7 years. Recently we are finding it hard to get any hot water out of it, it's just about warm. We've been told by a heating engineer that the fault lies with the boiler and want's to fit a pressure reducing valve. This is a new problem, it has been fine for years, after reading this site I get the impression that it may be the cartridge, we live in a very hard water area. What do you suggest the best thing to do is?

If your mains water supply has had an increase in pressure then the engineer is probably correct as the Excel works best with nominally equal pressures.
If this is not the case then yes a replacement cartridge is required which cann be ordered online by clicking on the link below.
