Leaking

Big leak behind the shower paneling when the shower is turned on. Had to take the damaged plaster board off the ceiling below to confirm this. The shower was installed about 5 years ago, with no problems until 4 weeks ago. If the hot water on the shower is turned right down and cold only is running there is no leak. When the hot water is introduced the leak starts. when the shower is in the off position the leak stops. I am a fairly handy guy (electrcian) and would appreciate your thoughts before i investigate and take the shower unit apart. Malcolm

Most likely a cartridge fault, the cartridge fits into a brass body, so all the moving parts, seals etc. Are part of the cartridge, therefore by replacing the cartridge you should solve all the problems.

The cartridge is a sealed unit and therefore no serviceable parts on it.
