This question is regarding Mira Excel/Select Thermostatic Cartridge - 903.33

Is This Cartridge I need For my Model Of Shower?

My shower has suddenly started running very hot only. Used to run it at 1 but no water comes out at that setting now and needs to be turned up to 6 to get any water to flow and then it comes out red hot. Assume it's the cartridge gone if so? Complete novice, seen your video for replacing it, is it worth attempting yourself or best to get a plumber in and if so what would be a fair ball park figure to have it done professionally?

For me it is obviously fairly easy.

This should be fairly straight forward and I think OK for DIY but I obviously I can’t asses your skills from here!

In terms of advice turn off the water.


Make sure you take lots of photos as you dissemble lay things out in order as you remove them and remember or note the orientation.

If you have the new parts in front of you it may be a little less challenging also if you have the parts and Think it is going to be to difficult then at least you have the parts when the PRO arrives
