Solenoid Valve Mira Extreme

I have a Mira Extreme Thermostatic, when switching off, the motor pump turns off but water still comes through the shower head. To get the water to stop, a couple of light taps on the shower has the effect of stopping the water. As the stop switch stops the pump motor I'm assuming it's working correctly ? My guess is that the solenoid valve, am I barking up the wrong tree ?? any information appriciated.

I think you are correct I would also go for the solenoid valve.
