This question is regarding Mira Jump (MK1) Electric Shower - Shower Spares

Mira Jump 10.8kw

I have just replaced the universal switching assembly because it was leaking water. Now the shower will not stay turned on, if i hold the on/off button in (to the on position) then it will run and everything will function as normal. Is this a solenoid or switch problem? The switch is showing as discontinued on your website.

It may be your solenoid valve, you can check it if you have a multi meter, you should have a reading of at least k3.5 ohms, across the two terminals any less and you need a new valve. (Check the valve in the failed state.) (When it has stopped working!)

If there is power getting to the solenoid and it is not operating then there is a good chance that you have a faulty solenoid.

I think the solenoid has gone, it is showing maximum resistance, reading > 1999. I can get resistance readings across the heater can.

I've also put my tester across the switch. I can only get it to make a circuit when i hold the button in. The description of this switch is a 'latching switch' so think this is also at fault. It looks like the water leaking from the switching assembly has done some damage.

The latching switch is discontinued. Is there an alternative part?

The latching switch in this form , www.showerdoc.com/mira-spare-jump-move-latching-switch-assembly-1693-320 , has been discontinued, but you can buy , www.showerdoc.com/mira-sport-switch-led-assembly-1746-446, and remove the switch from it to replace your faulty one.
Sounds like you also need a new solenoid.
