Pump failure or something else?

I've got nothing more than a gravity trickle coming through my shower head. The pump clearly isn't running bjut at this stage having taken the unit lid off I can see that the belt running on the valve assembly is trying to move but not at any kind of constant speed...is it possible to diagnose if its the pump or the valve assembly or even the stepper motor assembly (then i'm stuffed!)

I have to admit that these things are very difficult to advise what the fault is without seeing them.

So from what you have said I would first remove the belt and see if the Stepper motor runs freely or not.

The next thing to check is the valve try turning it, it may be too tight for the stepper
motor to turn.

The other possibility is a failed solenoid
