Shower heavily leaking when switched off

Hi when the shower is switched off we have a steady flow of water still passing through, this started with a squealing noise which has now stopped but quite a lot of water is getting through when off. The shower is Mira miniduo built in valve. Could this be a simple repair?

It needs the cartridge replaced

The cartridge for the Minilite and the Mini Duo are on the page below, unfortunately you didn't mention which one you have.

The Duo has two control knobs one for the temp. and one for the flow.

Hi it's the miniduo, we bought the house two years ago and don't know how old the shower is. Do you feel it's worth spending the money on repair other than replacement valve?

You are looking at about £250 for a new shower.

Shower cartridges are just something that needs replaced every so often, however the cartridge is the main working part of the shower, so other than the outside parts the valve is effectively renewed when you fit a cartridge.
