Shower temperature

I have a Mira Miniluxe shower that has a much lower temperature than running tap temperature. It feels like the temperature adjusts up and down slightly whilst the shower is on. I have an Alpha CD35C combi boiler and 14 radiators.

Regarding the temperature fluctuation or cool running, it could be a faulty cartridge. However to check this if you have the shower fed from a combi boiler, see if you can get hold of the hot supply pipe before it enters the shower or perhaps as it leaves the boiler.


If when holding this pipe the temperature fluctuates or goes cool, then the problem is not with the shower but more likely with the boiler, as the shower can only deliver what the boiler sends to it.

Disregard the temperature at the taps as they have a different flow rate.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Can you explain the function of the cartridge? Can you supply a cartridge and what is the price? is the cartridge easily replaceable? By myself?

There are five pipes exiting my Alpha CD35C boiler. three of a wider diameter and two of a narrow diameter, is there a way of identifying which pipe to examine?

If there is a fault with the boiler hot water supply would this not have an effect on the tap supply and not just the shower?

The cartridge regulates the temperature and keeps it constant. This is not available as a separate item.

You only need to test the hot supply pipe coming out of the boiler to see if the temperature is going is going up and down.

Disregard the temperature at the taps as they have a different flow rate and are not thermostatically controlled.
