Leaking shower

Are you able to suggest the most likely cause of a leak from the mira mode shower control. The water is leaking out from the spindle. The shower is 6 years old and used daily. The leak has gradually got worse over time.

A worn seal is the most likely reason for the leak. Or an increase in pressure.
