Mira PPT3

We have had the above pump for about 20 yrs. It has recently become very noisy, (almost a grating noise), although perfectly functional. It powers 2 mira excel showers.

Should I 'bite the bullet' & replace it now & if so what is the recommended replacement.

Sounds like one of the bearings in the motor has become faulty the pump can run on like this for months, or die tomorrow!

Probably want to go for something like this

http://www.showerdoc.com/salamander-ct-60-bathroom-pump-1-8-bar-ct60b slightly pore powerful than your old pump or this same performance as your old pump  http://www.showerdoc.com/salamander-ct50xtra-shower-pump-1-5-bar-twin  both come with flexible pipes.
