Mira ppt3 shower pump Failure
I have had my Mira ppt3 pump working for over 7 years and has been used nearly every day until yesterday when it suddenly packed up, the fuse on the wall had blown so I replaced the 3amp fuse then turned the shower back on, a humming sound occurred followed by a short spark / flash from the relay switch and the fuse had blown again, this occurred each time I replaced the fuse, I repeated this about 4 times to see if it would happen again, unfortunately on the last attempt a short flash from the relay followed by a humming noise then smoke appearing from the wiring section, then nothing again, fuse blown once more with the motor feeling extremely hot.
Has my pump completely had it? Or is it just the relay or the wire pack that has blown? Or maybe both plus the motor also? Can it be fixed, is it economically worth it?
If you could please let me know as soon as possible what your recommendation would be,

Sounds like the motor has stalled (stuck!) I would take the end plates off and see if something has happened to make the impellors stick, I have seen them disintegrate and cause the pump to jam.
If this is not the fault then it is time for a new pump.
If I was replacing it i would use this.
Or this depending on the budget!
