PPT3 on consantly

Hi

I have a PPT3 pump that constantly runs even with no taps turned on, I have bled all of the air out of the system, problem still exists.

I have removed the pump from the water supply and turned it on, it does not operate until I lift the magnetic sensor on either the cold or hot side, at which time the motor operates and then stops when I drop the float back down.

Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Is it possible that it is the pressure relief valve?

My thoughts would be that when the pump is in place that the torpedo is lifting and activating the sensor, so that makes me think that there must be water passing through the pump to lift the torp.

Check that you have nothing dripping or passing water.

The other thing you can try is removing the sensor from each end that way you should be able to work out which end is causing the problem.
