low flow light on

when turning shower on the low flow light comes on, water does come out but no heat. pressure seems fine. problem was temporarily fixed by switching on and off (low and stop buttons) many times until the light went off and water heated fine. Also when it did get hot I managed to get it working the next time by switching to low and turning it to it's coldest setting for a few seconds before switching off.

What do you think is the problem? and part to replace?

I had the same problem and initially purchased the flow valve assembly £50

on closer inspection I discovered that the real problem was the contact switch on the rear pcb had given up after many years (the principle is that when water flows, the white plastic part moves a little bit and closes the little button switch). A replacement was purchased from Maplin (or any other electonics store) for £1.14. I am an electronics engineer so desoldering the old switch and soldering in the new one was straight forward. Checking for continuity of the switch before replacing.and the acual work is not a difficult job. The shower Doctor were happy to provide a refund on the flow vlave assembly
