Mira Sport intermittently running cold

My mother's Mira Sport electric shower is having some problems.

It was installed in 2010 and has worked fine all this time, but recently she is seeing that during a shower the water will intermittently run cold. Waiting a moment will return the temperature to normal - and the water is hot for the bulk of the shower, with just periodic cold moments (not pleasant in winter!).

Notes:

- no obvious change in pressure when the temperature changes (also she lives alone so generally the shower will be the only use of her water supply).

- neither over-heat nor low-flow lights are coming on during the problem

- starting with temperature dial on low and moving to high (on full power) shows a gradual change of temperature/flow rate as you'd expect

Any ideas? The troubleshooting section in the manual has nothing that covers this case :)

Would strongly suspect that the Thermal Switch on top of the heating tank is over sensitive , replacement can be ordered online via the link below

Great, thanks for the quick response. Is there any way to test this theory out, or is it a case of changing it and seeing if it works?

I assume if the fault is intermittent that a continuity test won't help much - as most the time (esp. when cold) it will be working fine.

Thanks for the suggestion - changing the thermal switch has fixed the intermittent problem.
