In shower yesterday. Daughter flushed toilet whilst I was in there reducing flow. Heard click in shower then water gushing out of bottom of unit.

I think the Pressure Relief Device (PRD) may have blown. 

It’s a safety device on the bottom of the heating tank. ( red ball at bottom of the heating can)

Flushing a toilet should not cause this,  however there is usually something that causes it to blow, often a kink in the hose or the shower head is blocked, so check this before fitting the new heating can.
