mira thermal switch

what is the purpose of the thermal switch?
Asked 9 years ago by Anonymous

Most thermal switches are now two stage normally activating around 48° C this switches of the power to the elements so you don’t get scalded if for some reason the temperature in the unit gets too high, when the temperature drops it resets and allows the power back through to the elements.

There is a second stage if the temperature in the unit gets too high (Depending on the shower 70° >80°) it will then cut out and not reset, it will therefore need to be replaced, this is also a warning that something has gone wrong in the shower and should be checked.
