Leak between Thermal Switch and the Heater Tank

I replaced the Thermal Switch 416.41 (from you) a couple of months ago and there now seems to be a leak from the seating. There is some salts build up, is this the probable cause of the leak or some other cause? The Thermal Switch appears to be otherwise seated correctly and firmly. Would it be possible to clean the salts/corrosion or may this be a "terminal" problem?

The leak will not originate between these two items, it is probably coming from the screw hole above the area or condensation and a build up of verdigris.
You can wash this away , once the electric is off, dry the area and things may improve.
