This question is regarding Mira Azora/Sprint/Sport/Zest Thermal Cut-out (TCO) - 416.41

Mira Sport 9.8kw - cutting out whilst showering

Fitted in 2014. Been fine but just started cutting out after a few minutes. Then comes back on again after a minute or so. guessing its a thermal switch issue?

It may be your solenoid valve, you can check it if you have a multi meter, you should have a reading of at least k3.5 ohms, across the two terminals any less and you need a new valve. (Check the valve in the failed state.) (When it has stopped working!)

If there is power getting to the solenoid and it is not operating then there is a good chance that you have a faulty solenoid.

Hi, thanks for your response. The only problem is that the cut out stage only lasts for about 30 seconds, which wouldn't give enough time to remove cover and check it? Or if I switch it off on pull cord once it fails will it retain its failed state?

Yes the timing can be an issue, however from your description I am pretty certain you have a faulty solenoid.

It may be worth replacing the complete flow valve as it will take the same amount of time to replace the complete flow valve as it will to replace the solenoid coil.
