Rusting of Thermal Switch Depression

The depression in which the thermal switch sits rusts quicker each time I replace this switch. Can I use thermal grease or something to sit the switch in or does it have to be a non sticky metal to metal contact ?

You may have a slight leak from the screw hole above which is causing the rusting and damaging the tco. Filling this may solve the problem.
