Pump needs priming all the time

My new team 1000 seems to have an air leak as the pump constantly needs priming, with the result the shower is noisy or fails. I presume air is entering the system but I can't see where. The only though is the rubber gasket (#5) which seems a bit distended

The rubber gasket should not be distended, this is usually an indication of high pressure, and since the shower should only be on a low pressure system this should not happen.
There maybe a fault with the mixer , allowing water to escape the shower.
