Shower Issues

Hi, I moved into a flat with the 1000xt. When I moved in the switch inside was switched to 'purge' - possibly had never been turned on properly? I switched on so the power shower worked which worked great for 2months or so. There were then problems typical with the solenoid so I changed this and it then worked great for another month or so. It then was very slow to start - water running but no power although I could hear a light hum from unit for a few mornings before working after a minute or two if being on. It now does not work at all. I can still hear a light hum from unit and it is use able as a shower but not a power shower. This has been the case for about a month, although one random morning it worked about 3 weeks ago for seemingly no reason. Can you advise please? Thanks
