NT 968 thermostatic on/off overtightened now keeps turning and shower running

My shower was always dripping and has been turned tighter and tighter for months now. Finally I went to tighten the on/off dial to stop the drip and it suddenly turned quite easily and the drip turned into a torrent!

Have I broken the cartridge or will the seals kit still fix my problem?

Normally seals would fix a dripping head however it does sound like something has broken inside.

Your valve is similar to this internally, but not exactly the same. http://www.showerdoc.com/sirrus-1850-1850-dual-shower-valve-including-sirrus-stratus-1850-shower-spares
