does the ceramic cartridge come out of the valve body by means of a retaining nut and do i have yo isolate water supply

My cartridge set up is shown as per your spares diagram and is of brass construction whereas your itemised illustration shows plastic construction and the cover extends further to the front.I assume that this sits inside housing which has hot and cold inlets? Is your illustrated part compatible with my model? Is retaining screw standard thread?
