Hi, my shower knob will not grip the spindle strongly enough to turn shower off, it just rotates. The knob is intact with no splits or cracks. The spindle illustrated appears to have no splines on the end as fitted or is there another part?#

The spindle fits into the handle which should have a  4 sided hole shaped like a fat plus sign. If it does not you may need a,
