On-off Switch breakages

I bought 1 of these from you in June last year and have now had to replace it with a new one as the teeth that go over the know inside the shower fractures off. Is this a common fault, and are these parts not up to the job?

The new switch fitted in June last year was fitted exactly as instructed, and the knob was fitted to the front before the replacing of the front back onto the body of the machine.
