This question is regarding NewTeam On/off Knob Mk3 Electric (white) - SP-092-0416-W

On off switch versus temp control on the 8.5

I purchased what I thought was a new power control switch from an online retailer (not you) but I seem to have recieved a temp control switch as the 4 prongs on the back of it are not long enough for the switch to mount properly in the casing. Am I doing something wrong or are the prongs on the back of the power switch normally longer than the temp control one?

Yes you are correct, the prongs are longer on the power knob.
