control knob SP-085-0031

what am i doing wrong i've now replaced the handle 3 times in 1year,

every time i grease the shower and change seals etc, every time the handle split in exactly the same place within a month on fitting, it

does not appear to be up to the job and very flimsy..you can split it just pushing it on the spindle.try it with a spares kit yourself..the ridges on the spindle are to tight especially the larger one..back to reinforcing it with a cable tie!!!

this if previous experience is anything to go bye will last about a month..

We haven’t had any complaints about these recently, and I have just checked our stock and although tight I wouldn’t say that they were unduly tight.

We did have some issues with these some years ago when NT were using the older white spindle, our engineers would give the spindle a good rub with sand paper and this solved the problem.

The other thing you could check is the temperature of your hot water anything over 65°C will wash the lubricant off the seals causing the valve to tighten up.
