Knocking in pump

Shower off but power switched on and there is a knocking noise in the pump which can be felt physically. Switch off the power switch and the noise/knocking stops. Noise/knocking starts when switch put back on. It is as though it is thinking of rotating but nothing is requesting it to do so.

Your description and conclusion sounds pretty accurate, I suspect a faulty flow switch, disconnect each one in turn and then reconnect if it is the flow switches then this should allow you to determine which one
